One of the concerns about bringing a loved one into a
nursing home is the cost that is associated with the care. Below is a
summary of the types of payment plans available.

To qualify for Medicare the patient will need to be
in a hospital setting for at least 3 midnights.
-
The first (20) days are paid in full by Medicare.
-
From the 21st day to the 100th day Medicare will pay
a portion and either Medicaid, a Medicare supplemental policy or the
responsible party will pay for the remaining portion.
Medicaid
- The Division of Family Services will determine if the
patient is eligible for Medicaid coverage.
- It the patient receives a social security check or SSI
check, this amount is paid to the nursing home less $30.00 per month
for the resident's personal spending.
Private Pay
- The rate for a semi-private room is $131.00 per
day
- The rate for a private room is $146.00 per day
